Gmail ChatView Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-01-13
Gmail ChatView is a Chrome extension that turns the current Gmail thread into a chat-style view with full messages and attachments. This policy explains what data we access and how it is used.
Information We Access
- Gmail data (read-only): Gmail ChatView requests read-only access to your Gmail account to retrieve the active thread and display it in the viewer. This data is processed in your browser.
- Gmail profile email: We may read your Gmail profile email address to identify your subscription status for billing.
- Billing data: Stripe handles payments. We store minimal billing metadata such as Stripe customer and subscription IDs, plan status, and trial status.
- Cookies: The site lumatruth.net sets a device cookie (used for the free trial and subscription status). This cookie persists on your device until cleared.
How We Use Information
- To render Gmail threads in the ChatView interface.
- To determine trial eligibility and subscription status.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions through Stripe.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell Gmail content or personal data.
- We do not store your Gmail message bodies on our servers.
- We do not share Gmail content with third parties.
Third-Party Services
Payments are processed by Stripe. Their handling of payment data is governed by Stripe?s privacy policy.
Data Retention
Billing metadata is retained only as long as needed to support subscriptions, comply with legal obligations, and prevent abuse. Gmail content is not stored on our servers.
Your Choices
- You can revoke Gmail access in your Google Account security settings.
- You can clear cookies in your browser to remove the trial/subscription cookie.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in the extension.
